From one of my favourite producers the 2014 Oligocene doesn't disappoint. Lovely freshness with lemon and apple pie. Light enough to have on its own but great with spicy chicken
Consistently good . No change to previous notes -Dry and acidic sharp but well balanced citrus and green apples, flint and a tight but lingering finish . No real oak presence. Super with seafood . 3.8⭐️
It comes entirely from the lieu-dit "Les Pellans" in Meursault, which has the particularity of being split in two by the appellation: the upper part is 1er Cru and the lower part simple Bourgogne. In this case it is a blend of parcels belonging to both areas.
Slow to open up, it offers reductive profile and fresh waxy fruit. Skin-tight minerality on mid to late that becomes gently edgy on ending, thin yet fresh and long acidity.
Buttery nose of face powder, clay, pan epicées, reductive peach and ripe lemon.
A great Meursault that only needs a bit more of aeration to display its potentiality..just a matter of time to get rid of some reductive notes. Amazing starting from the very first sniff with butter and pain brioche, some of those notes in mouth along with an elegant minerality and a gentle freshness. Let's see the evolution with additional cellaring..
Able to stand up on its own. Slightly smoky which I liked! Minerally with some deep citrus flavours. Very nice.
